LIFE 2009 September: There is More to LIFE

There are lots of scriptures that tell us about Jesus teaching adults: the Sermon on the Mount, the parables, the Last Supper. Nowhere is there a story about Jesus teaching children. Have you ever wondered how in these last 200 years the Church came to reverse that? Jesus brought adults to faith mainly through his stories and by forming relationships with them. Children, of course, came along for the ride. But they were not the focus of Jesus’ faith formation efforts.

So Why LIFE? Our faith formation history tells us that for 1800 years, adult formation was the most effective tool for drawing people into relationship with Jesus. Why LIFE? Because it is a return to our roots. It has been the long tradition of the Catholic faith to focus first on adults who can then bring our children along.

There's more to LIFE than answers!  There's more to LIFE than we thought!  At this session we saw that there is MORE to LIFE!
