Our Lenten Penance Service is this Thursday, March 15th at 7:00 p.m. We will have several priests here to help with confessions. Come and deepen your Lenten preparations by encountering God’s love and mercy in this sacrament of reconciliation.
Electronic transfers and payments now make up about one third of our regular donations and they are growing quickly. Many years ago we began with ACH transfers from checking accounts through Fidelity Bank. A few years later we added credit and debit card payments through another company on our website. These were logical steps at the time to allow people to give automatically and on our website. However, we now need to consolidate and simplify these different ways of receiving gifts especially as the number of gifts increase. After checking out a couple of vendors, we have chosen Faith Direct to receive and organize our electronic giving. Faith Direct is a national leader in electronic giving for Catholic Churches and is fully compliant with the PCI Data Security Standard.
Faith Direct will be handling both the ACH transfers and the credit and debit transactions on our website beginning the first of April. For the first time, ACH transfers can be initiated through our website and once your register your account, you will be able to change your regular gift or add a special gift just by returning to the website. While we are happy to accept credit and debit cards, we encourage ACH transfers from checking accounts because they do not cost us any fees.
Between March 17and April 1st, we will be transferring all our electronic giving to Faith Direct so that we are ready to go on April 1st. Our link to Faith Direct is now available on our website. Next weekend we will provide flyers in our bulletin to sign up for automatic giving. We also will be sending out emails and letters with transfer instructions to those who currently are giving electronically. Those using ACH transfers will not have to do anything. Those using debit or credit cards will need to go to our website and reenter their information. We will remove your automatic gifts from our current providers as you sign up with Faith Direct so you are not surprised by two simultaneous gifts.
If you want to begin giving automatically, you can either use the flyers in the bulletin next week or go online to our website and enter your information. Of course if you have any questions, call our office for help or call Faith Direct, which has a 24 hour help line.
